After School D-5 teaser

We hope you have been keeping up with us as we countdown to After School's long awaited comeback on 25th November. Having seen their first and second concept pictures, and the introduction of their two new members, Nana and Raina, Pledis Entertainment has gone with a simpler concept for their D-5 teaser.

The new teaser picture released by Pledis are profile pictures of the 7 members put together in 1, although only members, Jooyeon and Raina are shown for the time being. And it looks like teddy bears are going to be a feature in their comeback. We can expect the rest of the profile pictures to be unveiled in the coming days.

Here's a clip of Raina singing Stand Up For Love.

5-member After School’s upcoming plans?

After announcing Soyoung's official departure from After School, there has been no news on the plans of the six-turned-five-member girl group.

A week after Soyoung's departure, Pledis Entertainment stated, "These days, After School has been working hard on the recording of their new song. We will be releasing their new album either in late November or early December."

The company is pondering on whether they should leave After School has a five-member group or add a new member and re-make them into a six-member girl group.

Regarding the talks of a new member, Pledis stated, "We are still deciding if we should add a new member."

What do you think? Should Pledis add another late addition to After School like UEE, or should they just let After School be?

After School and Son Dambi say no to MAMA

The 2009 MAMA (Mnet Asia Music Awards) have been plagued with bad news from the very beginning and here's some more.

Along with the two trot singers and SM Entertainment boycotting the MAMA's, Pledis Entertainment and their stars After School and Son Dambi have announced that they will not be attending the award show as well.

Pledis Entertainment stated:

"Because of Son Dambi's concert in LA, she will be abroad. After School is currently finishing up preparations for their next album to be released towards the end of November, therefore it will be difficult to attend."

Although Pledis is not boycotting, their stars won't be able to attend and quite frankly, it seems they don't believe the MAMA's are very significant anyway

Soyoung quits After School?!

It's unfortunate but Soyoung has now officially withdrawn or if you want, graduated from After School.

Yoo Soyoung's lawyers stated on the 29th:

"Soyoung's health has deteriorated due to her activities as a celebrity, therefore she will be quitting the group and fully focusing on her education."

The decision was apparently made by Soyoung while she was on a break recently. They will now discuss and settle all legal issues with Pledis Entertainment.

Soyoung stated through her lawyers:

"Thank you for all of the love and support during my activities as a celebrity. In the future I would like to greet you all with a brighter and healthier look."

Pledis Entertainment also apologized and explained that they could not come out with an official announcement earlier due to issues that were not completely settled.

Hopefully this is not the last we will see of Soyoung, but for now, let's all wish her the best of luck. All eyes will now turn to Pledis Entertainment on whether a replacement member will be drafted for the now 5-member group and whether this will affect the originally scheduled mini album release in November .
